Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN

Barbara Dossey, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the holistic nursing movement. She is International Co-Director and board member of the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health (NIGH), Washington, DC and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Director, Holistic Nursing Consultants in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is a Florence Nightingale scholar and an author or co-author of 23 books. Her most recent include Holistic Nursing: A Handbook for Practice (5th ed., 2008), Being with Dying: Compassionate End-of-Life Care Training Guide (2007), Florence Nightingale Today: Healing, Leadership. Global Action (2005), and Florence Nightingale: Mystic, Visionary, Healer (2000).

Her Theory of Integral Nursing focuses on an integral worldview and process, caring, healing, compassionate care of the dying, and nurses' roles as 21st Century Nightingales. Her collaborative global nursing project, the Nightingale Declaration Campaign (NDC) has developed two UN Resolution proposals for adoption 2010: International Year of the Nurse and 2011-2020: UN Decade for a Healthy World.

Barbara is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She is certified in holistic nursing. She is a eight-time recipient of the prestigious American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award. She was awarded the 1985 Holistic Nurse of the Year by the American Holistic Nurses' Association; the 1998 Healer of the Year by the Nurse Healers Professional Associates International, Inc.; the 1999 Pioneering Spirit Award by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses; the 1999 Scientific and Medical Network Book of the Year by the Scientific and Medical Network, United Kingdom. In 2001 she was recognized as TWU 100 Great Nursing Alumni, Texas Woman's University, Denton, Texas. In 2003 she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from Baylor University, Waco, Texas. With her husband, Larry, she received the 2003 Archon Award from Sigma Theta Tau, International, the international honor society of nursing, honoring the contributions that they have made to promoting global health. In 2004, Barbara and Larry also received the Pioneer of Integrative Medicine Award from the Aspen Center for Integrative Medicine, Aspen, Colorado.

For the 72nd General Episcopal Church Convention in Philadelphia July 1997, Barbara wrote three of five documents to accompany the Resolution Proposal to request the reconsideration of Nightingale's commemoration and for her name to be placed on the church calendar list of Lesser Feast and Fasts in the Book of Common Prayer. The official vote to accept Nightingale to the church calendar occurred in July 2000. The inaugural Florence Nightingale Commemorative Service was held on August 12, 2001, at the Washington National Cathedral, Washington, D.C.

Alison Levy, MA

Alison Rose Levy. M.A., is a bestselling writer and health journalist with 20+ years in creating communications, focusing on healthy lifestyle, yoga, and psychological and spiritual transformation. A student of famed mythologist Joseph Campbell, and writer Grace Paley, Alison uses language as a tool for transformation.

Beginning in 2000, Alison trained in Systemic Family Constellations with founder Bert Hellinger, Stephan Hausner, MD, Hunter Beaumont, Gunthardt Weber, Dietrich Klinghardt, and other distinguished teachers in Germany and the U.S, graduating from the Second U.S. Training Program in 2002. Alison has been facilitating workshops and offering one-on-one sessions since that time. Both her husband and brother are also facilitators.

Alison evolved Family Healing to better meet the needs of her coaching clients, having trained as a health and lifestyle coach in 2001. She integrates into her health coaching practice both systemic work and a number of the healing modalities she has been privileged to study, including Certified in Gestalt Synergy, (1982), by Ilana Rubenfeld, Anusara Yoga Training (1990) with Anusara Founder, John Friend, Holistic Health Paradigm Training (1996) with Rudolph Ballentine, MD, Ayurvedic Diet and Lifestyle with Ayurvedic physician Robert Svoboda (1997-2001), Thought Field Therapy, (2000), Building Loving Relationships, training with John Welwood, PhD. Jay Perry

Jay Perry, (founder of The Coaching Collective) is an ICF Master Certified Coach who helps people take advantage of both business and personal challenges in unique and powerful ways. His clients include business executives, entrepreneurs, and creative artists. He is also known as one of the world's leading mentors for new coaches seeking to attain professional certification.

Since 1979 Jay has led workshops for thousands of people across the country on topics as diverse as business planning, leadership, transformational change, coaching skills, communication, and career planning. In 1991 he began working with legendary coach Thomas Leonard and participated in the creation of Coach University where he remains the dean of faculty.

His professional experience also includes ownership of a New York theater, running an interactive computer company, and for 12 years presiding as president of AIP, Inc., a training and consulting company in New York and Los Angeles.

Duncan Work

Duncan Work, Chief Privacy Officer, LinkedIn Corporation. Duncan was previously Founder and President of Net Deva, Inc., which designed and developed Internet tools to intelligently broker relationships and manage individual privacy and trust. His experience before Net Deva includes roles as a consultant specializing in software applications for groups and associations, a partner in a Washington, DC international trade consulting firm, and chief planner of employment and training programs. He holds a Masters of Science degree in Urban Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Kansas.
