60 Hour Course
The Path to Learning Successful Coaching - The AsOne 60 Hour Course
Research has shown that if people do not have a preparation stage and a plan, they often do not reach a new goal. That is where coaching comes in. Through a coaching partnership, people create that plan and then have help to manage progress and accountability. The coaching process acts as a vehicle to aid them as they move from one place to another.
We offer a 60 hour course that is based on:
- The ICF core competencies
- A holistic foundation that informs our model
- Energy concepts
- Step by step coaching guidelines
- A personal constitution model
- Transition and transformation concepts
- Evidence based practices
Participants who have taken this training say that it not only improved their client/patient care but it also helped them live a healthier and happier life. The goal of holistic coaching is to help health practitioners love their work again, by providing a tool that gives them increased job satisfaction. They feel more successful, they see the very positive effects of their care, and they come away with a renewed love of their work.
The 60 Hour Course Has 3 Different Modules

The manual Holistic Coaching: An Integral Approach, written by AsOne Coaching founder, Linda Bark, PhD, RN, MCC is included in the course fee.
The AsOne Coaching Foundations I Module is presented in two interactive versions: take your choice between a teleclass or a Playshop.
Two Month Teleclass: Teleclasses are offered through a phone-bridge, which is similar to a conference call. When you call into the phone bridge from your phone, you are connected to the group. This virtual classroom is employed to create a new kind of learning experience that brings together a community of people from different parts of the country and even sometimes different parts of the world. In addition, the virtual classroom keeps the course cost low, avoids stressful and expensive travel, and reduces the use of planet resources. Teleclasses allow us the opportunity to meet, connect, and learn in the comfort of our own home or offices! If you have never been on a teleclass or want to learn more about the course, sign up for a free introduction teleclass at AsOne Holistic Coaching.
During the teleclass module, you will be able to practice coaching with people outside of class. This will give you practical coaching experience to see the application of coaching in every day situations. During class, discussions about your coaching experience make for lively learning opportunities as coaching faculty share evidence based best practices. This course is designed for people who have full time positions so reading assignments and outside coaching practice can be accomplished in one or two hours a week.
OR
Weekend Playshop: Our 15-hour weekend playshops are presented several times a year throughout the country. These interactive playshops give us an opportunity to connect and to meet in person. Playshops allow us to include more movement, somatic experiences, art and music as a way to deepen your understanding of the tools for coaching. As part of the weekend, you will have the chance to listen to and experience coaching sessions based on this model. You will also have opportunities to build your own coaching skills by working with students in the class to see how this model works in real life situations. Processing and reviewing these interactions are one of the best ways to learn about this vital coaching process. If you are interested in having a Playshop in your area, please contact us and we can discuss how you could sponsor one and benefit from a scholarship for the training.

- Setting the Foundation
Practicum Teleclass:
15 hours of Group Telecourse Plus
2 Individual Half-hour Coaching SessionsOne of the very best ways to learn coaching is practice, practice, practice. Therefore, this last course allows students to continue coaching for additional hours outside of class and to also coach other students during class with useful feedback from faculty. You have the chance…yes, we know it is a little uncomfortable in the beginning…to coach another student on the phone bridge with the rest of the class and the faculty person listening. However, you will find that the atmosphere is one of kind support and gentle feedback. This is one of the best ways to learn. Students have found it an invaluable step on their path to providing successful coaching.
The individual coaching sessions can be used to focus on credentialing issues, building your practice or for life coaching issues. This hour could also be counted toward mentoring hours needed for credentialing if it focuses on your coaching others.
The teleclass format allows you to conveniently attend class from your home or office. If you miss a class, you can easily listen to a tape of the class at your leisure on the phone or download an MP3 file.
You can use the 60 hours of AsOne coach training in your application toward a coaching credential through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This is the largest worldwide resource for business and personal coaches and they have worked for a number of years to set up guidelines and criteria for the coaching profession. The ICF provides a worldwide recognized coaching credential with 3 levels of coach certification—The Associate Coach Credential, the Professional Coach Credential and the Master Coach Credential. If you are interested in applying for the beginning credential from the International Coaching Federation, by taking this course, you will have completed several of the requirments.
