60 Hour Course
The Path to Learning Successful Coaching - The AsOne 60 Hour Course
Research has shown that if people do not have a preparation stage and a plan, they often do not reach a new goal. That is where coaching comes in. Through a coaching partnership, people create that plan and then have help to manage progress and accountability. The coaching process acts as a vehicle to aid them as they move from one place to another.
We offer a 60 hour course that is based on:
- The ICF core competencies
- A holistic foundation that informs our model
- Energy concepts
- Step by step coaching guidelines
- A personal constitution model
- Transition and transformation concepts
- Evidence based practices
Participants who have taken this training say that it not only improved their client/patient care but it also helped them live a healthier and happier life. The goal of holistic coaching is to help health practitioners love their work again, by providing a tool that gives them increased job satisfaction. They feel more successful, they see the very positive effects of their care, and they come away with a renewed love of their work.
The 60 hour course has 3 different parts:
1. The In-Person Weekend Playshop—15 hours
The purpose of this 15 hour course is to teach basic holistic coaching skills so you can assist others and even yourself in a transformation process. This combined weekend course of both the Healing Matrix and Coaching Foundations I will enable you to understand and experience different ways of thinking that evolved over time. From each of these perspectives, healing systems and coaching tools evolved. You can enjoy and benefit from coaching demonstrations and beginning coaching practice. This interactive Playshop will leave you with basic skills of how to integrate this unique and time-tested coaching into your workday. You will experience coaching at a deeper body, mind, spirit level that facilitates the co-creation of that place of connection and creation that allows you and others to move more quickly and easily toward goals.
2. Coaching Foundations II Teleclass—30 hours over 4 months
Great! So now you have the basics. Next is the Coaching Foundations II teleclass. But what is a Teleclass? Teleclasses are offered through a phone-bridge, which is like a conference call. When you call into the phone bridge from your phone you are connected to the group. You may call using your own long distant service or phone card.
This virtual classroom is employed to create a new kind of learning experience that brings together a community of people from different parts of the world. In addition, the virtual classroom keeps the course cost low, avoids stressful and expensive travel, and reduces the use of planet resources. Teleclasses allow us the opportunity to meet, connect, and learn in the comfort of our own home or offices! If you have never been on a teleclass, sign up for a free introduction teleclass to AsOne Holistic Coaching.
The Coaching Foundations II Course builds on the coaching structure and skills learned in the Weekend Playshop. In the Foundations II, additional information is provided in the AsOne Coaching Manual, which comes with the course. You can read the content during the week and then it is demonstrated, applied, practiced and discussed during class. This method ensures deeper learning and retention. Students have found class coaching demonstrations very useful in learning how coaching can help them with their own changes and how they can use these practices to help their clients.
As part of your homework, you will carry out 10 coaching interactions outside of class. This will give you practical experience and you will begin to see how coaching really works in real life situations. During class, discussions about your coaching experience makes for lively learning opportunity as coaching faculty share time tested and evidence based best practices. This course is designed for people who have full time positions so reading assignments and practice coaching can be accomplished in one or two hours a week.
3. Practicum Teleclass—15 hours
One of the very best ways to learn coaching is practice, practice, practice. Therefore, the last course allows students to coach other students with useful feedback from faculty. You have the chance…yes, we know it is a little uncomfortable in the beginning…to coach another student on the phone bridge with the rest of the class and the faculty person listening. However, you will find that the atmosphere is one of kind support and gentle feedback. This is one of the best ways to learn. Students have found it invaluable step on their path to providing successful coaching.
